3 already!!

I just can't believe it my baby girl is 3 already, where did the time go? I'm sure it wasn't that long ago that we brought her home from the hospital, and yet it has been, it shouldn't be legal for time to go by this quickly!

Anyway we had a nice peaceful family day at home for her birthday and next weekend we are thinking of taking her to the zoo for the day. (Stupid fortnightly pay!!) The photo above is of her opening her present from Braiden, Dave and I. We just got her some strawberry shortcake dvd's on sale at K-mart for $5 each and she loves strawberry shortcake just as much as I did as a little girl.
She's very much into the whole unwrapping presents thing, so much so that she'll unwrap everybody else's while she's at it! She unwrapped most of Braiden's christmas presents for him and even unwrapped two other's under the christmas tree that I then had to re-wrap. Crazy, wonderful child that she is!

Especially for Grandad!

Yes I do know very long time no posting, naughty blogger! Here's some of the latest pics of the kids. Braiden smiles and giggles a lot now, LJ is learning so many new words, phrases and names that I just can't keep up with it all.

Will post some newer pics soon but have to organise laptop so desktop computer can get cleaned and debugged.

Love you!

Been a while crocodile...

Howdy strangers, hope you are well?

We're doing good! LJ has a slight cold but other than that is fine, Braiden seems to be growing faster than LJ ever did, but that could just be my memory playing tricks on me!

I took this pic of them last week, LJ cried until I would let her hold him, which she call 'help' too cute!

Make sure you check out the link in the post below and find out what season you are. I've always known that I prefer summer to any other season but now it's totally official. When you've found out what season you are email us and let us know.

Last but not least how could you not love a guy that buys you a Muzz Buzz hot chocolate on his way home just because he can. Love Muzz Buzz and Boost Juice!

Howdy!

Just wanted to post some recent pictures, I don't really have much to write, LJ is great everyday is something new. She learnt how to hold the watering can and water the pot plants, and I love these picture of her by the big tree in the backyard, that day she took up hiding in the trees. About a week later we had 48mm of rain up here, go figure. david took the picture of my pregnant tummy about a month ago, I'm probably a little bit bigger than that and at the moment I am addicted to peanut butter sandwiches, I ate like 4 of them yesterday. The bottom picture is of LJ playing on her swing set out the front, though it actually needs a new swing, but considering we got it for free, I ain't complaining. Have a good weekend!!

Time for an update!

We are all doing great, baby included. The ultrasound pic is from our first ultrasound, bub looks much the same just bigger. This baby wriggles more than Lakiesha ever did, I'm starting to think it's going to be an acrobat or gymnast.

Lakiesha is learning new words all the time unfortunately she picked up on saying sh*t! Charming! So what have we been up to since I last posted, well we are now the proud owners of a red 1989 Nissan Patrol, which we took 4wd the very next day, to the beach at Pipidinny, which was Lakiesha's first real beach trip, she absolutely loved it. Once she got in the water with daddy's help she absolutely had a ball and didn't want to get out of the water even though it was windy, very sandy and a little chilly.

On the 11th of February, David's sister Cheryl, gave birth to a tiny baby boy. Callan Kane looks a bit beat up in the below pic as he had a hard delivery, suction cups and 2 sets of forceps later and out he came.

One day at Playgroup we did painting, so we could display artwork at a community event that we had a stall at, Lakiesha got right into it and painted 3 pictures on the easels as well as walking along the laid out paper to make footprints for our background display. She was absolutely covered in paint by the time she had finished but the important thing was that she'd had fun!

We met this little guy in our backyard at first he was hiding from us under the bush, but pretty soon he came out for a wander around, we got to see him up fairly close and even got some video footage of him eating a bit of bread that we'd actually thrown out to the magpies who come through our yard nearly every afternoon. I'm not sure exactly what he is I thought he looked a bit like a bilby but I'm not sure, I figured that because he was eating bread he's not a carnivore.

A picture taken of Lakiesha on our back verandah, she'd beed cuddling the pole and it had looked really cute but she wouldn't pose for me for this picture and instead pulled a funny face at me before trying to steal my camera.

In Fabric and Button Heaven!!!

I found this totally cute bag of buttons at a local craft store. $9.00 for all these citrus coloured buttons in pinks, oranges, yellows, blues & greens. There's round ones, square ones, sparkly glittery ones, small ones, big ones, some that look like doughnuts. Totally awesome!

I've had a lot of this fabric for a while I had just stuck it in a storage container and forgotten about it so I am now determined to start using it for projects, some scrapping, some just fun have a go and play stuff.

I found this felt at textile traders (then I found it at a craft store for 5c cheaper which adds up if you buy a fair few pieces!) I found a totally cool project to make with felt so I am starting a felt collection. It's a tissue box cover for small square tissue boxes. Really nice and looks fun to make!

Jumping for joy...

for more than one reason, the first being that we are PREGNANT! and expecting our second child on the 17th of July. (Will post an ultrasound pic of the little one when we get our desktop computer back) The second being that my computer caught a nasty virus and it appears I haven't lost anything off of it. Can't wait to get it back and double check and back up all my beautiful pictures. Joyous!

The only bad stuff that's going on at the moment is with Lakiesha, she's in the wars again. While we were up in Dongara last weekend she got a heat rash on her leg, which became very sore and started peeling, she was one unhappy chappy. Then yesterday she was trying to stand in one of her toy buckets, which slipped out from under her and she fell down and hit her head on her wooden kids table, she had a lump on her head the size of an egg and it bruised and is all purple and blue! Charming not to mention she was screaming and crying so much that I started to cry. Oh the joys of being a parent, well it is joyous most of the time.

Take care love to you all. xoxo

Somebody save my sanity....

Ok so I started off the new year by checking emails etc.. not bad, then I need to update the program that I use for my digital pics in retrospect a dumb idea without first backing up all of my pictures but I didn't and now I am praying for a miracle. My desktop computer has completely crashed and I think I probably made it worse by trying to fix it! Anyway I am now praying that I can get some if not all of my most recent unbacked up pictures back. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks but even if I can get nothing else back I want my pictures, memories of random everyday bits and pieces of our life. However it's a tough lesson if you take digital pictures make sure you back them all up. I think I am going to start doing that as soon as I have loaded them onto the computer from now on, maybe it'll save some heartache in the future. Sad but true...

time to catch up...

It's been a busy few months for us, since I last updated our blog.

We went to our Spring Festival where Lakiesha had a great time at the Animal Farm stall. Santa came to visit at our Playgroup christmas party and brought Lakiesha a new doll pram. She wouldn't sit on his lap for more than two seconds and absolutely refused to go up there and collect her present. Nevertheless it was a really great day and we had a lot of fun.

Christmas totally snuck up on me this year but in a way I am thankful it has come and gone. Lakiesha got lots of new stuff, Santa gave her a megasketcher and a very muppett christmas DVD, Aunty Charlene gave her Narnia on DVD, Gran bought her 5 new outfits, that I'm almost too scared for her to wear! From David and I she got a new pool, beach towel, bathers & kronk's new groove DVD. In her stocking she got chocolate coins, and new colouring books as well as her very own coloured pencils. She got to go in her new pool on boxing day with Taylah and Cameron, it's quite large and big enough that Dave and I can get in there too.

Two weeks before christmas we went to Nat & Glen's for a bbq so we could all see Dad before he left to go on his trip. It was great to catch up with them all, as we haven't seen them in a while. Lakiesha spent the whole time with Paris and Jessica being carried around and kept entertained.

We rescued a baby bird, who we found on our doorstep when we got home from the bbq at Nat & Glen's. He'd fallen out of his nest and lost his mum, he didn't know how to fly. We took him in and he survived the night, so we took him to Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where he's getting the care and attention he needs. We are still waiting to hear from them as to how he's doing.

Lakiesha got given a haircut by me, not perfectly straight but it's a cute little bob and it really suits her. Plus it keeps her hair out of her face.

We went to the Wiggles concert at Burswood Dome with Aunty Narelle, Dante and Montana. Lakiesha absolutely loved it she spent the whole time standing on the chair dancing and clapping. It was great and the hour and a half just flew by. We got to see all the action as we were quite close to the front plus some characters walked past our row of chairs. Santa was also there, he's a very busy man.

We said goodbye to David's parents as they have moved to Darwin and are enjoying it except for the hot muggy weather.

We had a playgroup outing to Funstation where Lakiesha spent most of her time making things in the kitchen. We had a fun day though.

Lakiesha and I took a trip to Dongara to do a Stampin' Up! workshop weekend and to catch up with family, while we were away Dave went camping with Neil and Jamie. It was a long, eventful but worthwhile weekend. Before leaving Dongara we went to playgroup with Narelle and the kids in the hopes of wearing Lakiesha out so she'd sleep for the first part of the trip home, and thankfully it worked. She had a blast playing on the little trampoline and really got into being on the swing she was even leaning forward and backwards with the motion of the swing.

I've caught up with friends I used to hang out with and go to school with, which was really great. It's interesting to see how our lives have changed for the better.

David's grandad passed away from his struggle with cancer, he fought as hard as he could but it wasn't meant to be. We were all devastated by losing him he was a wonderful man and David will always miss him.
Overall it has been a wonderful year, full of blessings and struggles, but I think we will emerge as stronger people and a stronger family because of it. We are looking forward to a great new year and many more great thingss in 2007. We hope you all had a wonderful christmas and that your new year is just as awesome.

My cousin Rebecca married her sweetheart Craig on the 7th of October. I really enjoyed the wedding it was short, sweet, simple and they wrote their own vows. Fave bit: in his vows Craig said "I love you, because you can cook (everyone laughed) but mostly I love because you're you" majorly sweet, may not be an exact quote but it went something like that. Bad bit: Lakiesha was not happy about being with a babysitter while we were at the reception so we left early, but you get that. We however wish Bec and Craig every future happiness.
