It's been a couple of weeks since I last left a post because we haven't been up to a huge amount lately. I am working on keeping the house cleaner and more organised and making sure there is something to eat for dinner, that's not still frozen. Lakiesha has finished breastfeeding, hooray for me, I now get to wear normal bra's again, and I don't feel like a cow come in for milking. Not a great description but you get that. I took the pictures below on thursday afternoon, LJ fell asleep on the couch watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, apparently she doesn't like the movie as much as I do. David is working this morning and we are getting a couple of hours to ourselves this arvo as Mandy and Steve have kindly agreed to babysit, while we go food shopping. Hi mum I know we caught up with you a week and a half ago but we still miss you and David was a bit annoyed that he didn't get the chance to catch up and say hi in person so hopefully we'll see you again soon. Love you all xoxo

Hi, just checking in with you all. We are all doing great, David is still loving his new job, Lakiesha loves it when Daddy gets home, as soon as I say Daddy's here she runs for the front door and straight into David's arms. We are adjusting to living on a paycheck again, but we are learning to be more responsible with our money and to make sure we have everything we need without it costing us a fortune that we don't have. Congratulations to Tania and Gary who welcomed their son into the world on sunday morning. Joel Spencer McGhee, little brother to Michaela. Congratulations, we look forward to meeting the new addition soon at Playgroup. Well must go I have to finish cleaning up and organizing the office and I have to go stick a loaf of bread on.
Love you all. xoxo

We've just come in from playing out on the back lawn. Well Lakiesha played, I just followed her every move with the digital camera. She roamed all over the back yard which was unusual for her because until a couple of weeks ago she didn't even like grass. She also pulled all of the pegs out of the basket and they are still all over the lawn because she ran off with the empty basket in the end. Cheeky bugger. It was stinking hot today we went to Carousel for a couple of hours just to get out of the house and away from Midland, since then we've watched Oprah, done three loads of laundry, and swept the floor. Which means we get to relax a bit after we get home from playgroup tomorrow. YAY! Now we just need to reorganise the office so I can spend more time scrapbooking. Now we are off to water the plants. All our love Holly and Lakiesha xoxo.

P.S. Don't forget that you can leave us a message if you click on the comments section below this post, just note that the comment box opens in another window.

We hope you are all well, Lakiesha and I (Holly) have slight colds not good at all. I just have a stuffy nose, but Lakiesha has a runny nose and to make things worse she's getting two new molars at the top. Dave is back to his second week of work and still loving his new job. He usually gets to knock off about 4pm, which means we have a bit of relaxation time before watering the plants and organizing dinner. Lakiesha is still sleeping through the night and we have cut down to only 2-3 breastfeeds a day, so hopefully we'll be finished in the next few months. Love, hugs and kisses to you all. Photo taken a couple of weeks ago, before Lakiesha and Dave went to see Uncle Donk, while I got to stay home.

Just updating to let you all know Dave is loving his new job, he comes home happy, smiling and waiting to give his girls hugs and kisses. Lakiesha practically throws herself into daddy's arms as soon as he gets home. She is most definately Daddy's Little Girl!!

We went to Araluen on Saturday 11th of March. It was a perfect day, weather wise not too hot or cold. We went for a nice little walk and found Nan Carruthers' bench. We found it at the end of a path, just across a bridge sitting in front of a nice little stream, it's a beautiful peaceful, relaxing little spot. Nan would have absolutely loved it. The photo below is of her bench, In Loving Memory Dorothy (Dot) Carruthers.

After finding Nana's bench, we went to a picnic spot and had morning tea of scones with jam and cream, a cheeseboard, grapes and nuts. It was nice and quiet and peaceful. We went for another walk down to Nan's bench where David sat me down and then he got down on bended knee and PROPOSED to me. Surprise we are ENGAGED!! I was so surprised I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but I managed to say YES!! As I am sure you have already guessed the picture below is of the engagement ring that David and I picked out together. We have set a date but I don't want to tell anyone yet I'm going to make you all wait a little while longer.

After exploring Araluen a bit more we decided to go home and have a rest, as we went out that night to Dad's house and met Kerry's daughter Erin, her husband Lennet and their two daughters Anya and Katy. We made it an early night as it had been a long day, so we took ourselves off to bed. I didn't want to take off my engagement ring though. I'm very proud of David he's started his new job today, will let you all know how he goes soon. That's all of our news for today, love, hugs and kisses to everyone. Talk to you soon.

Hi all we haven't been too busy this week, David started a new job but found himself bored for most of the day, so he found a new job working at Jason Mazda in Osborne Park, which is better pay and he's not likely to get bored too soon. I got to pick up my new glasses last week, not a huge deterioration thankfully, but I still felt strange for a couple of days. Uncle Phil and Aunty Sarah have made the move to Dongara, we're going to miss them. xoxo to you guys. Well that's about all there is to say this week we are off to Araluen Botanical Park tomorrow, which will be very nice. We've also picked a ton more tomatoes. Just so you know at the bottom of each post you can leave us a message by clicking on the bit that says comments, then click on anyone under the comment box and type in your name so we know who our message is from. Love and kisses to all, the photo below I took of Lakiesha out the front of our house about 2 weeks ago, cute huh?

I had a brain wave today!! I figured I'd better start putting posts on here twice a week instead of only once, that way they wouldn't be as long and they wouldn't take as long to type. (Who knows maybe it's just these fake nails getting in my way.) It's been another busy week this week. Sunday 19th David and I got three heavenly hours to ourselves while Lakiesha was babysat. So we took ourselves off to the movies and saw Underworld: Evolution. If you liked the first one I definately recommend seeing the second one, after that we had a bbq dinner with David's family for Cheryl's birthday. We had to leave by 7pm as Lakiesha was tired and cranky, from having had such a big day. Aunty Talya has been to visit a few times this week and it was nice having her so close. We have spent the week gardening, planting and picking. Our tomatoes have all started to turn red and ripe, as you can see from the picture, it's gratifying knowing that you have grown something, even if, like me, you don't eat tomatoes.

Sunday 26th we had a nice catch up with friends from Playgroup that we no longer get to see very often. Rosa and Mick invited us to have lunch at their house, and catch up. We don't get to see them because Rosa has gone back to work, they might also be moving back east which will mean we'll miss them even more. David had an interview for a new job today at Roofmart in Kewdale, and we just found out that he starts Tuesday next week. Yay!! Well I thinks that's all the excitement for today, I'm going to get back to sorting out my negatives and photo's ready to be scrapbooked and we'll write again soon.

A picture I took of LJ tonight and changed into a cartoon picture she's still gorgeous though.

My Valentine's Day flowers from David.

Howdy all, hope this post finds you all well. It's been a reasonably busy week for us Sunday the 12th we had a family lunch at Kerry's house for Vic and Jan, whom we haven't seen in a long time. It was so nice to catch up with them. The whole Carruthers clan showed up for the occasion. (Which reminds me I need to get my photo's developed.) David bought me a beautiful bunch of flowers for Valentine's Day which was very unexpected as I had said I did not want anything, which made it an even more beautiful surprise. Wednesday we lucked out on going to playgroup, we just couldn't be bothered and it was a little chilly for outdoor play. So instead we bought David a mobile phone as a present for Valentine's Day. Thursday I got my eyes checked at the optometrist and have ordered new glasses that I should hopefully have by the end of next week yay I can't wait til I can see properly again. Friday night we had lamb on the spit for dinner at Neil and Brooke's it was really lovely. And the added bonus was that LJ fell asleep on the way home and slept the whole night through til 8am. Poor little girl was absolutely tuckered out. Today was chill out day, relax, read, do a little gardening. Tomorrow David and I are off the the movies and we are leaving LJ with Nana and Pop (AKA Mandy and Steve)can't wait to have a little US time it's going to be absolutely wonderful. Well that's all from us til next time all our love. Our thoughts are especially with Papa Coochie who's in hospital at the moment with Bowel Cancer, all our prayers are with you Coochie we can't wait to see you when you are feeling better. All our love also to Vic and Jan, whom we don't get to see anywhere near as often as we should, due to Vic's failing health. We love and miss you all!! Hol, Dave and LJ xoxo

P.S. One of these days I'll get me shit together and put our family portrait on here.

We had music day at playgroup today, plus outdoor play time. It was great fun and the two hours just flew by, really fast. We've been rather busy lately getting our house into order so it was nice just to spend a few hours running around with the kids. We had a nice visit today from Neil, Brooke and Shakayla Andrich. Lakiesha and Shakayla played in the pool on the back patio and had a blast. Tonight we are having dinner at Grandad's house and Kerry is going to give Lakiesha her first ever hair cut. Yay, no more constantly pushing her hair out of her face. That's all of our news for today, love and kisses til next time.

Today we went to playgroup, it feels great to be starting go get back into a weekly routine. Today was painting day and Lakiesha had a lot of fun getting paint mostly all over herself rather than on the paper. It was a great morning catching up with all the friends we've made in the past year. No one could believe that Lakiesha was walking because she is so tiny it looks so strange seeing her walking the first few times. It seems though in the last week or so Dave and I have become so accustomed to it that doesn't phase us as much anymore. It does however still amaze us just how much she has changed. We are still rearranging our house now that my Dad has his own house. Dad and Kerry came for a visit today they brag to each other about how many cuddles they each get from Lakiesha, it has developed into quite a competion but it just goes to show how much they love getting hugs from Lakiesha Jane.
The above picture was taken today at playgroup I have to tell ya it took a bit of convincing to get LJ to hold onto the paintbrush, but once she figured it out she got stroppy if you tried to take it off her or help her to paint.
That's all the news for today love and kisses to you all.
